Escape the Freeze With a Supercar Experience at Algarve!

If the big freeze is getting you down then why not catch some winter sun and take a trip to the best modern circuit in Europe - Autodromo do Algarve, near Portimao in Portugal.

While British circuits are busy chipping ice of the track, the fabulous undulating course at Algarve is already starting its supercar experience and track day season - it's currently between 9 and 13 degrees there and sunny! Towards the end of the month, the teams and riders in the 2010 World Superbike Championship descend on the circuit for some pre-season testing, which the public are allowed in to see too for as little as 3 Euros!

09 Jan | 30 Jan - Driving Experience
Algarve's driving courses come in 4 different flavours - Classic, Silver, Gold and Platinum, each with tuition given by professional instructors. Improve your driving skills while enjoy this unique track, driving this superb selection of cars. Test your Drift Control in a Porsche Boxster S, take the "Moose" test in a Volkswagen Golf TSI, and brush up your Dynamic Control in a BMW M3, before taking to the track in a Porsche 911, Ferrari Modena, Porsche GT3 and the amazingly powerful Nissan GT-R.

Bring your car and enjoy a day at high speed on one of the most exciting circuits in the world!
Trackday-istes will be divided in three groups: Super sportscars, classic cars and classic racing cars.
From 09:00am to 05:00pm.

16 Jan - Curso Moto
Autódromo Internacional do Algarve opens its doors again for a new edition of "course & track day moto",  in the 8th and 9th August. Miguel Praia, the only Portuguese rider that competes in the World Super Sport Championship, is the main instructor of these courses that have been a success. These courses are made for motorcycle owners that want to improve their riding skills in a track. For Miguel Praia, the course is very enriching: "I try to give a little of my experience to all participants, explain them the method in theory and then apply it in the track. We want to improve the driving skills of all participants and their behaviour on the road".

17 Jan - Track Day Moto
Bring your bike and enjoy a day at high speed on one of the most exciting circuits in the world!
As with the cars, participants are divided into three groups: Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced so you won't be out of your depth whatever your skill level.
Price: 120€ From 09:00am to 05:00pm.

22 - 24 Jan - Test Day World Superbikes Championship
As in 2009, the convoy of the SBK & Supersport return to Algarve for the last major testing session before the start of the Championship in February at Phillip Island. The testing sessions will be held between the 22nd and 24th of January (Friday to Sunday) and the public have the opportunity of watching it from the paddock  for a token fee: the main grandstand will be open, for just 3€ (per day) and if you want to enter  into the paddock to see riders and bikes up close, you will only have to pay an extra 5€. There are no excuses!
