Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
Cadillac have dropped in the 556bhp 6.2 litre supercharged LSA V8 into the pretty CTS Coupe bodyshell to create a little M3 killing monster!
The CTS-V comes with a choice of Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch or a paddle shifted 6L90 six-speed automatic. Complete with Brembo Brakes, 19” diameter Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, Magnetic Ride Control and (optional) Recaro seats, the CTS-V Coupe means business.
Weighing in at a hefty 4204 lbs (1905 kg) the CTS-V Coupe is some 500kg heavier than the Corvette Z06, but even so with that torquey supercharged motor it storms from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and completes the ¼ mile in 12 seconds flat at around 118mph.
Expected to cost between $65-70,000 in the USA, exports to Europe will begin in the summer or autumn of this year. The standard CTS Coupe comes with GMs excellent 306bhp 3.6 litre V6 engine also seen in the Camaro LT; the CTS 4 door saloon and estates which also share the V6 can be ordered with a 3 litre turbo diesel, which at this stage is not planned to be offered in the Coupe bodyshell – they missed a trick there, surely.
