Opened on 21st August 1992, the challenge of the great Ayrton Senna International Autodrome is the proximity of the walls of the track. The circuit has two main straights, linked by sequences of low-speed curves. With these characteristics, the circuit always provides many battles for position and requires a lot of concentration from the drivers. The construction of the Autodrome was enabled by a partnership between the City of Londrina and Petrobras Distribuidora. This is the third International Autodrome, adding to the Paraná de Cascavel and the Pinhais, in Curitiba.
The Autodrome main circuit is 3146 meters long, with small run off areas and walls close by. This track provides excellent viewing for spectators as the undulating landscape provides a wide angle of vision. The circuit offers 30 pit boxes with capacity for four cars each, a medical facility, helipad, 6 cafeterias, 4 floor timing tower, ample parking and capacity for 35,000 people.
The circuits name was changed on 25th June 1994 to the Autódromo Autódromo International Ayrton Senna in tribute to the Brazilian driver who died on 1st May that year. Located next to the track are other sports facilities - Kartódromo Luigi Borghesi and Estádio Jaci Scaff 'Do Café'.
