Pukekohe Park Raceway was opened in 1963, and hosted the New Zealnd Grand Prix - top european drivers of the time including Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Jim Clark and Jackie Stewart would visit Pukekohe to take part in the Tasman Race Series when not competing in F1. Nowadays, the track hosts NZ V8 Supercars and Motorcycle races. The track also has a horse racing circuit in the infield, and a top quality functuion centre for corporate hospitality, while the track can be accessed by race fans via the BMW Hot Laps driving days or in their own car on one of the many track days at the circuit.
The circuit is located in the Borough of Pukekohe (Manukau Road) 45km South of Auckland.
The easiest Route from North or South is to leave SH1 at Bombay heading west towards Pukekohe. The motorway exits here are well sign posted.
Initially you will pass the BP Service Station (on your left hand side) and the road you are now travelling on is Mill Road. Travel along this road for approximately 6.5km (note that after 2.5km the road changes names and becomes Pukekohe East Road). On entering Pukekohe you will reach a T-Junction, here you will turn slightly left onto Stadium Drive and almost immediately come upon a small roundabout. Again, turn left onto Manukau Rd. Continue travelling down Manukau Rd for approximately 1km. Pukekohe Park, Home of Motor Racing, Counties Racing Club and Counties Function Centre, is situated on the left at the South End of Manukau Road, as you head out of Pukekohe towards Tuakau.Please use Gate 3 as the main entrance for events. Gate 1 is reserved for Horse Boxes and access to the stables and training facilities. Gate 2 is reserved for Staff and Eclipse Racing Stables employees.
