Work to construct the track began in 1965, and was completed in time for the inaugural race held in 1967.
Curitiba holds a round of the World Touring Car Championship, and other classes of National level racing. The track is also popular with the people who line in Paraná who use the 980m long main straight for “Arrancadas” - Drag Racing.
Pinhais is about 5 miles east of Curitiba, the capital of the Estate of Paraná in x Brazil. The circuit is accessed off of Avenu Irai, close to Avenue Ayrton Senna da Silva.
