Balatonring is a new circuit under contruction. It will be a 2.63 mile long circuit, located in Savoly, Hungary near to Europes biggest lake, Balaton. The circuit is about 110 miles from Budapest, the capital city of Hungary. Balatonring Zrt will operate the racing circuit, being 70% owned by Worldwide Circuit Management S.L. (WCM) and 30% owned by Magyar Turizmus Zrt. (The Hungarian Tourism Board). It is expected to provide seating for between 110,000 to 140,000 once complete. Construction began on 6 November 2008, and although the facility was due to host its first MotoGP race on 20th September 2009 this race was postponed due to financial problems. The circuit has re-scheduled it's first race, to September 19th, 2010. The website proper is due to be launched in September / October 2009 where more information about the circuit and next years race will become available.
